Dear Zidisha members, I am writing to notify you of a technical error that affected data posted in our website between March 15 at 10:15 AM and March 17 at 2:45 PM US Eastern time. Transactions, loan profiles, loan funding and other data created during this period is no longer displaying in our website. On March 15, our website hosting service migrated our data to a database host with greater storage capacity. On March 17, the hosting service repeated the migration while repairing an error in the new database's settings which had caused French language text to display incorrectly. During this second migration, the hosting service inadvertently saved over the data that had been created between March 15 and 17. Since the error was discovered today, we have been working with the hosting service to see if there is any way to restore the missing data. Unfortunately, the hosting service has not yet been able to locate any backup that includes the data. Over the next day, we will reenter in our database all disbursements, repayments, lender funds uploads and other financial transactions that took place between March 15 and 17. However, we are unable to recover data for new account creations, loans using lending credit uploaded, or other actions that did not involve payments. I am very sorry for the trouble caused by this technical error. We are working with our hosting company to establish more thorough safeguards to ensure such an error does not happen again.
