    Dear all,

We launched a new feature that had long been requested in beta this week: lenders can now elect to receive email notifications when individual borrowers post comments and / or new loan applications. This option can be accessed from individual loan profile pages, and from the new "Following" page in the lender account menu.

Up until now, lenders have only been able to receive notifications of comments and new applications posted by entrepreneurs they themselves had funded, and they could not change the notification preferences for individual borrowers. Now, lenders can receive these notifications for some borrowers they have funded and not others. They can also receive notifications of comments and new applications posted by borrowers they have not funded.

The intent is to make it easier for lenders to receive the content that most interests them while turning off unwanted notifications. The ability to follow entrepreneurs one has not funded also allows lenders to keep an eye on the activity of entrepreneurs who post quality photos and comments, go the extra mile as VMs, or otherwise exhibit outstanding quality. Receiving notifications when such entrepreneurs next post a loan application gives interested lenders the option to participate in their next loan.

If a member attracts dozens of followers by virtue of serving helpfully as a VM or sharing quality comments and photos over time, those followers will receive a notification when the member next posts a loan application. The intent is that this should make it easier for members who make outstanding contributions to raise funding for future loan applications, and for lenders to ensure they don't miss out on the chance to fund the most outstanding entrepreneurs.

As this feature is still in beta, we hope to improve it in response to your feedback. I hope you'll give it a try, and let me know how it worked for you here.

    Thanks,

    Julia
