    As an early Apple II+ user, I became addicted to various bulletin boards using a 64k baud modem including The Source (of blessed memory) and Compuserve. As the internet expanded I discovered UseNet and was active there. After broadband became common, specialized user forums appeared such as Zidisha's and Kiva's.
